| Joe Russell |
| Mayor, City of Del Rey Oaks |
| Joe Russell is serving his second term as Mayor of Del Rey Oaks, and has been on the City Council for 33 years. He is currently the Chairman of the Fort Ord Re-Use Authority (FORA). He is a Director on the Monterey Regional Waste Management District (MRWMD) and also the Seaside County Sanitation District (SDSC). He has also been a Director on the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG) for 25 years. As a semi-retired attorney, he occasionally arbitrates for the County of Monterey. |

| David K. Pendergrass |
| Mayor, City of Sand City |
David Pendergrass has been involved in local and regional government since 1978, serving as Mayor of Sand City for 28 years. He retired from the U.S. Army, Training Division, DPTM/TSC, Fort Ord after 30 years of service and has been a member of the Fort Ord Reuse Authority since its founding.
Mr. Pendergrass is the Mayors' Select Committee appointee for the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District and has served on that Board for 16+ years. He serves on the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments Board (28 years) and was President of AMBAG's Regional Analysis Planning Services (RAPS). Mr. Pendergrass also serves on the Boards of Seaside County Sanitation District; Monterey Regional Waste Management District (MRWMD); and newly formed Seaside Basin WaterMaster.
Mr. Pendergrass has been a member of the MRWPCA Board for 28 years, serving four years as Chairman. He is a strong supporter for the use of recycled water and the purified replenishment projects. During his tenure on the Board, he witnessed the dedication of the RTP and Reclamation Plant.
Mr. Pendergrass is married, the father of three grown children, and grandfather of twelve children. He is also an illustrator and commercial graphic artist. |

| Ramiro Cortez |
| Boronda County Sanitation District |
| Ramiro Cortez joined the MRWPCA Board of Directors in 1987. He was President of the Board of Directors of the Boronda County Sanitation District for five years prior to its sale to California-American Water Company. Ramiro has recently retired as production manager at RTI in Monterey, a company that packages fertilizer for reforestation in Northern California, Canada and other areas. |

| Ron Stefani |
| Board President, Castroville Community Services District |
Ron Stefani joined the Agency Board of Directors in January 2008. He is Board President, Castroville Community Services District (formerly Castroville Water District). A lifelong resident of Castroville, Ron is married with four children. He has worked for the North County Fire District since 1970, currently serving as Division Chief. "I am very familiar with the public safety needs of the community and the importance of providing a safe, plentiful, and cost effective water supply," Ron says.
He holds an Associate of Arts degree from Hartnell College as well as many public safety certifications. Ron also has served on the Board of Directors, North County Recreation and Park District; as Chairman, Monterey County Redevelopment Citizens Advisory Committee; Co-Chairman, Castroville Coalition; and member, Artichoke Festival Board of Directors. |

| Jeff Haferman |
| Vice Mayor, City of Monterey |
| Jeff Haferman was elected to the Monterey City Council in November 2004. He is a member of the Research Faculty at the Naval Postgraduate School where he leads the High Performance Computing Center. He earned a Masters and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iowa. He is a previous recipient of a NASA Global Change Fellowship, and worked at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. He also currently serves as Club Secretary for the Monterey Peninsula Sunrise Rotary. |

| Dan Cort |
| Mayor, City of Pacific Grove |
| Dan Cort was elected to the Pacific Grove City Council in November 2004, and elected as Mayor in 2006. He previously served on the Cityıs Planning Commission for five years. He is owner of the Cort Companies, which acquires and renovates historic real estate in northern California. |

| Gloria De La Rosa |
| Mayor Pro Tem, City of Salinas |
Gloria De La Rosa, a licensed vocational nurse, was elected as a Salinas District 4 Councilmember in November 2000. In November 2006 she was appointed as Mayor Pro Tem. Ms. De La Rosa is founder of the Salinas anti-violence group "Neighbors United."
She joined the MRWPCA Board because she has a strong interest in water. "After all, nothing can live without it," she says. "And, I want to protect the blessing we have of living in the beautiful Salinas Valley." |

| Steve Bloomer |
| Mayor Pro Tem, City of Seaside |
| Steve Bloomer has been a resident of Seaside for 44 years and has served the City and Region in many capacities: Seaside City Council for 8 years, the last 5 years as Mayor Pro Tem; Planning Commission and Board of Architecture Review, four years; Board of Trustees for Mosquito Abatement District, eight years; Chairman Seaside Traffic Committee, six years, President Seaside High School Alumni Association and Webmaster, 10 years; President Monterey Division of the League of California Cities, one year; and as Vice Chairman Seaside Stop the Violence Task Force, one year. Additionally, Steve serves as a member of NAACP, LULAC, American Legion Post 591, Seaside Citizens League for Progress, Philippine-American Cultural Society, The New Seaside Library team, and as a Board member of the Seaside Police Activities League. Steve graduated from Seaside High School in 1965 and received a degree in Civil Engineering from Humboldt State University. Steve currently works in a family-owned business in Seaside. |

| Kenneth Nishi |
| Director, Marina Coast Water District |
| Kenneth Nishi rejoined the MRWPCA Board in 2006. (He previously served during the 1996-97 term.) Mr. Nishi, a Marina retired business owner, has served on the Marina Coast Water District Board since the early negotiations that resulted in MCWD joining the Regional Treatment System. |

| Louis Calcagno |
| 2nd District Supervisor, Monterey County |
Louis R. Calcagno has lived in Moss Landing since birth. He is a self-employed dairyman and farmer in North Monterey County following a seventy-five-year tradition of his family. He attended local schools in Monterey County and majored in Dairy Husbandry and Manufacturing at Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo. He is married and the father of two children.
He was a State and National dairy leader, whose past service includes Chairman of the California Milk Advisory Board; Chairman of the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board; and is past Chairman of the California Co-Operative Creamery which has over 450 members.
He was an eighteen-year member of the Monterey County Planning Commission before his election as Supervisor of the 3rd District of Monterey County in 1999. As an appointee of the governor, he served on the California Coastal Commission and became the Chairman. Lou has been recently re-elected to the seat of the Supervisor of Monterey Countyıs 2nd District for a second term.
He was a Charter member of the Monterey County Agriculture & Land Conservancy as well as the Elkhorn Slough Estuary and Sanctuary Foundation. The Foundation recently awarded him its highest honor, the Heritage Award for his long-standing efforts to protect and conserve the Slough and its environs. |

| Gage Dayton |
| Moss Landing County Sanitation District |
| Gage Dayton grew up in San Diego and obtained his Bachelors of Science degree from Humboldt State University. He then moved to Texas where he studied the ecology of amphibians in Big Bend National Park and earned his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 2005. He currently works at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories where he implements wetland restoration projects and studies how wetlands influence water quality. |
