Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I, II, or III
$4,410–6,515/mo.
The Agency is seeking a candidate to fill an Operator I, II, or III position. Duties include but are not limited to:
Grade III Operator:
-
Control chemical feed rates and monitor filters.
-
Diagnose operating problems and take corrective action.
-
Possession of Grade III operator certificate.
Grade I & II:
-
Take instrument readings, record data, and collect samples for analysis.
-
Knowledge of pumps, valves, tools, and related equipment.

Capable of obtaining a class B license
-
Must be able to obtain SWRCB Grade III operator certification within 18 months.
HS grad, available to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and holidays. MRWPCA provides an excellent benefit & compensation package and working conditions. Candidates must possess a valid California driver's license.

Internships are available to full-time college students (taking 12 or more units), and limited to no more than 20 hours per week during regular Fall/Spring semesters or quarters. Additional hours may be offered during semester or quarter breaks. Flexible scheduling will be available. Driving an agency vehicle may be necessary to perform the job duties, therefore, the applicant will need to be insurable and have a valid California driver's license. The MRWPCA Laboratory Division is seeking a temporary intern to perform a variety of tasks both in the Lab and possibly in the field. Listed below are the duties to be performed:
Laboratory:
• Willingness to wash laboratory glassware, including beakers, flasks, sample bottles, and sample collection carboys and test tubes. • Accept direction from a Laboratory Supervisor, Lab Analyst and Lab Technician. • Learn to prepare wastewater samples for analysis. • Interested in learning water and wastewater laboratory practices, such as data entry, sample collection, bacteriologic media preparation.
Field Work:
• Assist in various Laboratory staff in sampling procedures.
Ideally, the intern position should be filled by a full time student (12 units or more)that can devote approximately 20 hours a week. Flexible scheduling will be available.
