The MRWPCA Service Area

In 1972, MRWPCA was formed to seek joint solutions to the wastewater treatment needs of its members: Del Rey Oaks, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Salinas, Sand City, Seaside, Boronda, Castroville, Moss Landing, Fort Ord, Monterey County and Marina. MRWPCA is governed by a Board of Directors representing each of the jurisdictions that it serves.

Each day, 21 million gallons of wastewater are processed at the plant, which serves a population of 250,000 people.
